Niles Desonesto III was born to a working class family on December 23rd 1933 in the Cotswold region of England.
As a young man, Desonesto was a 3 time champion of the Cooper’s Hill Cheese Rolling Race.
Educated at The University of London, Desonesto went on to become an author, journalist, scholar, lecturer, naturalist, explorer, shark researcher, golf hustler and professional gambler.
In his late 20’s, Desonesto led an expedition to the Amazon and Brazil. There he killed a 62-foot giant anaconda with a rusty machete. Still the largest snake ever seen by man.
After returning to England, Desonesto won his stake to travel to America running crooked dice games in the White Chapel district of London.
Niles has written for The Daily Telegraph, The New Delhi Times, Scanlan’s Monthly, National Geographic (documenting his hunt for the elusive albino elephant), The New York Times, The Washington Post, Esquire Magazine and Cracked.
Desonesto founded this site out of frustration with meddling editors and the pervasiveness of watered down cultural analysis. A team of young outlaw writers were recruited to be site contributors.
Mr. Desonesto lives in seclusion on the top floor of The Chelsea Hotel in New York City.
Reports that Niles was a CIA operative are, at this time, unfounded.
